Afterschool Enrichment Programs

Play Chess. Learn to Draw. Explore Hands-on Science Experiments. Build with Legos.


St. Mary’s Afterschool Enrichment Programs start the week of

September 26th. 



Class Descriptions:


Introduction to Chess (Grades 1 - 3) Mondays

September 26 — November 28

Students will learn about each chess piece, how the pieces move, the value of each piece and how to capture and defend. Students will then learn how to win, lose or stalemate. Challenge matches against opponents of similiar skill level will utilize their knowledge and will teach the students about the importance of sportsmanship. Cost: $70.

Chess Masters (Grades 3 - 5) Wednesdays

September 28 — November 16

Students will review the rules of chess, sportsmanship and tournament style match play. Students will be given specific challenges to improve their overall game play and strategy throughout the classes. Cost: $80

Young Rembrandts (Grades K – 3) Thursdays

September 29 – December 8

Young Rembrandts drawing classes offer child-friendly projects using a step-by-step method. Each week the student will work on new and vibrant drawings, learning artistic techniques to complement and feed their own creativity. Children go home with a completed piece of artwork after each class. Cost: $80

Bricks4Kidz (Grades 1 – 5) Thursdays

September 29 – December 8

Students will explore a STEM related concept by building a moving model each week. Using Lego model kits and step-by-step instructions, children will learn about axles, gears, motors, battery packs and remote controls. Cost: $110
