UPDATE ON FATHER ERNIE'S SURGERY:
Wednesday, May 13: Father Bill visited Father Ernie at Loyola ICU on Wednesday
morning. His face is swollen with many stiches as is his leg. He is
not able to speak. He is doing fine and in good spirits. He is not
able to have visitors at this point. Please continue the prayers; they
are working wonders.
Tuesday, May 12: Father Ernie was in the Operating Room at Loyola University Hospital
for almost six hours. Father Cullen spoke with both his doctors and
they are both very pleased with the way the procedures went. His jaw
bone was removed; the jaw was completely cleaned up and a metal device
installed. The plastic surgeon than took skin from his leg and used it
to reform his jaw. Both procedures were most successful. He will be in
the Intensive Care Ward for several days and the hospital itself for
several days thereafter. He will more than likely return to the Rehab
Center for a period of time. Special gratitude to all the children and
adults who offered their prayers for Father Ernie.
