Christmas Gifts for Children

Good Shepherd Mission This volunteer ministry travels to McCreary County, Kentucky, to provide labor for community projects and home repair for the poor.

Nazareth Farm Teen program established in a West Virginia location that combines a weeklong retreat with service involving community work and construction.  Back to Top

Grief Support Group helps individuals regain hope and find peace while grieving the loss of a loved one. Sessions meet for six weeks in the Fall and Spring.  Back to Top


Adult Group Back to Top

Rainbows for All God's Children is a support group for children who have experienced some loss - either through divorce, the death of a parent, a grandparent, or even the loss of a friend who moved away. Rainbows promote healing, support and personal growth. Back to Top

Sunbeams for All God's Children Through Sunbeams, children ages 3-4 will have an opportunity to grieve the loss in their family and develop appropriate coping mechanisms for life.  In the sessions, children have the opportunity to talk about their feelings and to share their grief in a safe and supportive environment. Medical Missions
A segment of CCW, members work together on special projects for those in need. Projects include cloth bandages for the wounded (made from sheets), crochet lap robes for shut-ins and baby blankets for area infants born to low income mothers or teens. This group meets once a month, September through May.  Back to Top

PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) Ecumenical program provides shelter and hot meals to the homeless in our area. Volunteers host guests Friday nights in The Gathering Place from September, after Labor Day and continue through July.  Back to Top

St. Vincent de Paul Society ministers to those in need. In a confidential manner, all members of the community who require assistance are provided food, housing, clothing and other necessities to maintain a dignified existence. Clothing drives are organized in the fall and the spring. The Adopt-a-Family program provides food and gifts for approximately 100 families each Christmas.  Back to Top
