For over 120 years, St. Mary of Gostyn has been home to thousands of parishioners. Immigrants from Gostyn Poland traveled to Downers Grove, and shared their gifts to build the first Catholic Church in the area, made of a tent. From there, a church was resurrected and a school built shortly after, all through the grace and generosity of our parish family, our ancestors.

Since then, your grace and generosity have allowed many additions and renovations to be completed in order to serve our current family, you.  Even with all the changes, our faith connects us, and we are very much the same as our ancestors back in 1891. Today, we continue their traditions when we gather as a community on the land that was donated in the 1890s. We pray and sing in the buildings where they laid brick and mortar. We pass through the doors our ancestors opened to enrich our faith, to learn all that we wish, to serve others and to be a part of this magnificent community we call home.

Our ancestors shared their time, talent and treasure to establish St. Mary of Gostyn, and you have carried their torch to make this your home by sharing your time, talent, and treasure.  For that, we are always most grateful.   A Catholic Parish and School runs spiritually and financially by the faith and dedication of the families it serves. Without their contributions and trust, we would not be here today, and without your trust and your gifts, we will not be here 120 years from now. In order to ensure that our future generations can rely on us, their ancestors, St. Mary of Gostyn offers many options for you to share your support.
